Addressing the representatives of the cooperative institutions from all over the country in the second national convention of the Akhil Bhartiya Sahkar Samiti here, he said that his Government had imposed a ban on all the MPs and MLAs becoming office bearers of the cooperative institutions in the State by amending the law with a view to freeing the cooperative movement from political interference.

Besides, it has also been laid down that none can remain office bearer of a cooperative institution beyond eleven years, the Chief Minister said.

Expressing concern over the increasing trend of farmers committing suicide, Chouhan said that he had decided to give subsidy to farmers taking loans from cooperative banks in a bid to strengthen them.
