According to sources, the Chief Minister will interact with field officers of four districts in a meeting at Mantralaya on June 6 at 11 am. Senior officials of the Home Department and the Chief Secretary will also be present at the meeting.

Discussions would also be held on the administrative role in Naxal-infested districts. Collectors and Superintendent of Police of four districts, including Dindori, Mandla, Balaghat and Sidhi with respective Divisional Commissioners and IGs will also participate in the proposed meeting.

The State Government has made a provision of Rs 4.71 crore for tackling the Naxal menace. The fund has been earmarked under a new scheme in the current year’s budget.

The provision for various heads include Rs 15 lakh for contingency spending, Rs 3.82 crore for small-scale construction work, Rs 6 lakh for publicity and advertisements, Rs 50 lakh for assisting grant and Rs 6 lakh for other heads. The Finance Department has given its sanction to the proposed scheme.

The amount is in addition to the Rs 13.36-crore fund allocated for anti-dacoity operations in the State, according to an official press release issued on Friday.
