She was delivering a lecture on ‘Relevance of Religion’ at Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth (MGKV) on Tuesday. The Sociology Department of MGKV had organised the lecture.
Sai Maa said that one could not do anything alone and collective efforts were required to bring the desired change in society.
She also stressed the need to educate poor people.
“Education is power and we can not change the planet without education”, she said.
“What can we do together? How can we eradicate poverty in the 21st century? How can advanced technology be used to eradicate poverty in the 21st century?”, asked Sai Maa, adding a combined effort was needed to address these questions.
She said that her effort was to bridge the gap between the East and the West and to bring them together to address the worries of common people and eradicate poverty from the world.
Acting vice-chancellor of MGKV Prof BD Mishra presided over the lecture and said that it was culture and tradition of India which attracted so many foreign tourists. Prof Ramesh Nandan Dwivedi welcomed the guests and established the theme of the lecture.
Dr Ravi Prakash Pandey conducted the programme and Prof Parmanand Singh proposed the vote of thanks.
Former vice-chancellor of MGKV Prof RP Singh also addressed the gathering. Prof Saghir Ahmad, Inam Shashtri, Prof Kailash Nath Singh, Dr Anil Kumar Upadhyay, Dr Raghvendra Mishra and Dr Krishna Mohan Pandey were among others who attended the lecture.
