AICC general secretary in-charge of Orissa, V. Narayanswamy, and PCC president Jaydev Jena told mediapersons here on Saturday that the bandh is aimed at condemning the indifferent attitude of the state government towards cholera- affected villagers. “Before observance of the bandh, our party workers and leaders will meet people at the district and block levels to apprise them of our purpose of in calling the bandh and seek public support for it.

“People must know that the chief minister and health minister are primarily responsible for the large-scale cholera deaths taking place in the KBK (Kalahandi-Bolangir-Koraput) region,” Narayanswamy said.
