In a felicitation function of Union Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal and newly appointed president of District Congress Mahesh Dixit, members of the Cell demanded immediate financial assistance to the schools run by the civic body.

Members of the Cell also demanded all such facilities availed by aided schools of the State Government. They also demanded regularisation of services of teachers, who were working in the schools for 10 to 15 years.

A demand for the payment of pending dues of GPF to teachers was also made.
Teachers stage dharna: The Vishisht BTC Shikshak Sangh members staged a dharna at Shikshak Park in protest against the authorities failure to concede their long-pending demands. They handed over a memorandum, addressed to district magistrate, to the city magistrate.

Addressing the gathering, president of the association Sarvesh Trivedi said that even after seven months of their appointment, teachers did not get their salary.
Despite several reminders to the State Government, no step had been taken to pay salary to the teachers, Trivadi said.

Prince’s rescue celebrated: The children and the youths of the city celebrated the rescue of Prince from the 60-feet-deep well in Kurukshetra by bursting crackers. As the news of Prince’s fall into the well trickled in, the citizens spent a sleepless night.

The Bharatita Janata Yuva Morcha members organised a hawan for the safety of the child.
