Congress Ministers, PCC chief lose in Haryana

The defeat of senior Congress leader and Haryana Finance Minister Birender Singh and State Congress chief Phool Chand Mullana in the assembly elections has come as a setback to the ruling party.

The defeat of senior Congress leader and Haryana Finance Minister Birender Singh and State Congress chief Phool Chand Mullana in the assembly elections has come as a setback to the ruling party.

64-year-old Singh, a five-time MLA, lost to former Chief Minister and INLD President Om Prakash Chautala in Uchana Kalan seat in Jind by a slender margin of 621 votes.

Mullana lost to Rajbir Brara of INLD from Mullana reserved constituency in Ambala district.

Another senior Congress leader to lose is Transport and Education Minister Mange Ram Gupta, who was defeated by Hari Chand Middha (INLD) in Jind assembly constituency.
