A resolution in this regard was passed at the AIADMK's consultative committee meeting, Anbalagan said in a press release today.
The party was of the view that the cases had been filed at the instance of 'some political parties.'
The cases were filed in nine police stations on the route taken by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa on Apr 7 when she campaigned for BJP nominee, Lalitha Kumaramangalam. The party had displayed banners, cutouts and flags all along the route.
Election authorities had alleged that the display was a violation of the model code of conduct. However, Anbalagan had asserted that the Public Works Department had granted him permission.
