The 15-year-old girl, resident of Avchandi village in Bhawana, was bundled into a Maruti van on Thursday evening while she was going to a nearby shop with her mother, police sources said in New Delhi.

A class X student's father Hari Prakash is a constable posted at Samaipur Badli police station.

As the news of the kidnapping spread, angry locals took to the roads and blocked traffic for over two hours demanding the immediate arrest of the culprits and safe release of the girl.

The girl's father in his complaint said he suspected the involvement of one person, who runs a tuition and computer training centre, in the kidnapping.

She used to attend tuition classes at the centre, but she was withdrawn by her father as he suspected that his conduct was not proper.

Police has registered a case of kidnapping and launched a hunt to trace the girl.
