But considering his clean image and family background, the police gave him a clean chit. However, calling it a mischief, the police filed a criminal case of carrying arms illegally against unknown persons.
DCP (Crime), Anil Dhawan, said an unknown caller tipped off the Gurgaon police that the bus driver was carrying a revolver. The caller also gave the description of the bus and its location. The police then intercepted the bus.
“Our officials searched the bus and found a country-made revolver from under the driver’s seat. It was found that the driver, an ex-army man belonging to a well-settled family of village Rithouj, had no reason to carry a weapon. The driver is also a valid gun license holder otherwise,” the DCP said.
