Talking to mediapersons here, Singh said the party had launched an ‘employment right campaign’ and demanded that the villagers should be provided job cards under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme and all the districts of Purvanchal should be covered under this programme.

He said in districts where the scheme had not been introduced, labourers should be provided mazdoor cards. Singh further demanded that the unemployed graduates should be provided unemployment allowance by the Union Government.

The ‘employment right campaign’ was started from Babhni block of Sonbhadra district by state secretary of the party Akhilendra Pratap Singh, he added.

Singh said the yatra would pass through various routes and the party would stage a two-day dharna on March 9 and 10 in Gorakhpur and Varanasi divisions.

Expressing his concern over the law and order situation in the state, Singh said criminals were moving about freely while the common people lived in fear.
