TO CONDEMN the terrorist attacks on the Sankat Mochan Temple in Varanasi, the district unit of Communist Party of India (CPI) today staged protests against the attacks at the Itwara and Jumerati squares here and later burnt effigies of terrorists.

Communist Party of India (CPI) district secretary Shailendra Kumar Shaili, who led the protests, termed the attacks as condemnable and demanded stern actions against terrorists.

CPI members expressed their condolences to the dead who lost their lives in the blasts and appealed to the citizens to maintain peace and harmony in the country. Shaili, Govind Singh Asiwal, Roop Singh Chouhan, Ahmed Noor, Pawan Kaushal, Hemant Agrawal and Ramesh Sahu participated in the protests along with several other party members.

Foil terrorists’ designs
THE MUSLIM Majlis-e-Mushawarat has condemned the attack in Varanasi. The Mushawarat has termed the killing of innocent devotees at the temple as the handiwork of anti-national forces aimed at creating tension between Hindus and Muslims in the country.

The State convener of the Madhya Pradesh Muslim Majlis Mushawarat, Syed Irshad Ali has urged the citizens to understand the motives of the terrorists and foil their designs. He urged the government to sternly deal with terrorists, according to a press release issued on Thursday.
