Om Prakash Yadav brought laurels to the city by securing third position in the CPMT examination, the results of which were declared today.
Yadav’s achievement was significant as this was his fourth attempt. An ardent supporter of anti-reservation campaign, Yadav wants reservation to be scrapped from all competitive examinations. Talking to Hindustan Times, Om Prakash Yadav vehemently opposed any form of reservation in all competitive examinations.
“Reservation in any form in competitive examinations is a bane for merit and the entire society at large. Due to reservation, merit takes the back-seat and non-deserving candidates get selected,” added Yadav. If the government really wanted to help underprivileged sections of the society, it should extend help to them in their education, asserted Yadav. On his being selected in the fourth attempt, Yadav said, “My friends always stood by me in times of distress and encouraged me to continue my struggle.”On his chosen field of specialisation, Yadav preferred Neurology as his favourite stream. “Once I visited KGMU and was moved after witnessing the trauma of a neuro patient. I then decided to become a neuro surgeon,” pointed out Yadav.
