But the busy soul, who hasn’t had an off in three weeks and whose last vacation was in December, says, “I don’t want to be a slave of this churnout medium.” Ouch! Are these signs of a sabbatical? “Not at all!” he is quick to clarify.

“I have too much happening in my life: Work and also otherwise. MTV-wise, I have been travelling a lot with Roadies. My show 123 with Broacha (the other Cyrus) is doing quite well. We recently took it to London and NY. House Full with Sophia is always happening. Then we have the Style awards and Emmies coming in the latter part of the year,” he adds.

“But over the last 3-4 months, I have made special efforts to enjoy life. I have bought a cute digital camera and I keep clicking everyone and everything! I am also watching a lot of world cinema. I hope to do a film by the year end.” VJs in Bollywood have been, well, have beens. Isn’t his decision a little late in the day?

“It’s a very personal choice. I have been getting a lot of offers, from TV as well. But I don’t want to do the run of the mill stuff. Something genuinely different has to excite me.”

And what about the script that he was writing? “I have packed that away. I’m waiting for the perfect time and moment. But it’s pretty much on,” he says. “On top of my priority list is to find time to get away and do my own thing. That’s the most important.”
