It’s a pretty restaurant, with prints of the Company period paintings of the uncle-nephew duo of wandering artists, William and Thomas Daniell, gracing the walls. The menu traces the journey of the Daniells, from the old Madras Presidency to the North-West Frontier via Calcutta and Lucknow, so you’ll find a delectable medley of choices with imaginative names. Check out the Chicken Potli Kebabs and the Mutton Galautis, the Paneer Khazana and Khyber Murgh, the Jheenga Chettinad and Chicken Guntoor. There’s also a band playing in the weekends (8 to 11 p.m.). If you’re entertaining visitors from overseas, we’d recommend you take them to Daniell’s.
