The sit-in was organised under the banner of the joint action committee constituted by All India Defence Employees’ Federation (AIDEF), Indian National Defence Workers’ Federation (INDWF) and Bharatiya Pratiraksha Mazdoor Sangh (BPMS).
The participants of the sit-in demanded the Union Government to turn down the recommendations of the Kelkar Committee and to roll back the recent policy of seeking private investment in the defence factories.
Addressing the employees here on Tuesday , the union leaders said that privatizing the defence related units is akin to compromising with national security.
The speakers flayed Union Defence Minister’s move to constitute Kelkar Committee to recommend private money in the defence production units.
H N Tiwari of INDWF said that Central Government’s stand regarding globalization and privatization was leaving a bad impression on the defence units.
Sadhu Singh of BPMS and Gopal Krishna Sharma of AIDEF also addressed the employees.
