Delhi man arrested for raping stepdaughter

Deepak, a resident of Railway Colony in Ranibagh area, was arrested on the basis of a complaint filed by the victim's mother.

A 35-year-old man, who has been allegedly raping his minor stepdaughter for the last six months, was on Wednesday arrested in a North-West Delhi locality, police said.

Deepak, a resident of Railway Colony in Ranibagh area, was arrested on the basis of a complaint filed by the victim's mother and his second wife Manju after she found out that the 16-year-old girl has become pregnant, they said.

Manju, who had gone to her parents' home in Faridabad, returned on Wednesday and found out that her daughter was pregnant. On continuous questioning the girl broke down and narrated the trauma she went through during the last six months, they said.

A case has been registered in the Ranibagh police station.
