Delhi teacher gets 8 year jail for raping minor pupil
The incident took place in the teacher's room where she was shown an adult film after being called for cleaning.
A city sessions court has sentenced a teacher to eight years rigorous imprisonment for raping a minor student after showing her an obscene video in his office.
"When a woman, particularly a minor, is ravished, what is not inflicted is not the physical injury but the deep sense of deathless shame," observed Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) VB Gupta, rejecting the fervent leniency plea of Nadeem, who is also the owner of a nursery school.
Gupta also slapped a fine of Rs 1000 after the charges under section 376 (rape), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 292 (showing or selling obscene materials) of the IPC were established against him.
The victim, a class five student of ABC Mamta nursery school in east Delhi was asked by the accused to clean his office.
However, the room was bolted as soon as she entered. She was then raped after being shown a vulgar film.
Medical tests confirmed the sexual assault. Later, during investigation, the police arrested the accused and recovered some pornographic material from his office.
The prosecution examined 11 witnesses, including the victim and her mother who supported the case, to prove the charges against Nadeem.
