Dell Inc, the world's top maker of personal computers, said on Friday that it will triple the number of workers at a new customer center in Ottawa by adding 1,000 jobs.

Dell will employ a total of 1,500 workers at the Canadian facility, up from the 500 originally planned, the company said in a statement.
The facility opened in February.
The planned expansion includes 150 people who will focus on sales and services for government and French-language customers.
Dell shares were up 0.5 percent to $25.71 in mid-afternoon Nasdaq trading.
