According to sources, J P Jain a resident of E-5 Arera Colony had been suffering from fever for the past couple of days. His condition worsened on Wednesday evening and he was admitted to Akshay hospital.

Jain’s condition deteriorated further in the night and he was put on life support. However, Jain developed Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) on Thursday morning and died during treatment.

Doctors treating Jain told Hindustan Times that he was suffering from dengue. “The patient’s dengue IGM report was positive,’’ said doctors, adding, “the only cause for ARDS in this case could be dengue, as all other reports were negative.” This is the second death in the Arera Colony area caused allegedly by dengue fever in the past few days.
