If actors Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor and Kalki Koechlin’s presence at the 65th Cannes International Film Festival left fans wanting for more, actor Mallika Sherawat and former beauty queen Niharika Singh added more desi glamour on the ninth day of the ongoing fest.

Singh kept it simple and stylish in a milky-white chiffon Swapnil Shinde gown as she was applauded for her film, Miss Lovely, that is competing in the gala’s Un Certain Regard category. Her scarlet lips and silver accessories completed the glam look. The debutante was present along with her co-stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Anil George and director Ashim Ahluwalia.

Sherawat, on the other hand, chose a subtle colour with her Ali Mahdavi gown for the amfAR auction. The dress also had a hood. Stars flocked the charity event and contributed generously to raise money for AIDS research. “We raised 10 million euros in one night during Cannes for aids charity (sic),” read a tweet on the festival’s Twitter page. Meanwhile, the fest has scrapped the screening of anti-semitic film, The Anti-Semite.
