Take the Cue from designer duo Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna – their collection sizzled and made you feel as if winter will arrive eight months in advance at the Lakme India Fashion Week. Individualistic and ultra feminine are the words that come to mind when you first see their designs. The look fluctuated between neat, sophisticated and retro-chic.
The duo's favourite colour, purple, ran a riot on the ramp as models sashayed down gracefully in purple tops, asymmetrical skirts but that was not the only colour that ruled their collection, raging orange, pristine white, sober grey with geometric patterns teased every woman's desire.
"Women today have very individual taste. They know what they want and have a mind of their own. They want to look sophisticated and that is what I have tried to do with my creation," says Gandhi. The metallic collection of skirts and tops had a very chic feel to it. What was also interesting was the audio-visual presentation at the beginning of the show that started with visuals ranging from the interesting to the grotesque. The metamorphosis into the live visuals of models walking the ramp was interesting and made one sit up. On the runway were Diandra Soares, Shruti Chauhan, Sharan Mishra, Joey Matthew and Tinu Verghese, among others.
The distinctive Cue touch couldn't be ignored, as dots appeared on men's shirts while their signature well-tailored suits and cargo lowers made a funky as well as formal picture.
