Alleging that supporters of minister for Urban Development, DK Shivakumar, his political bete noire, were behind the attack, he also wanted the election in Sathanur constituency postponed.
Gowda later submitted a memorandum to the DGP T Madiyal urging him to deploy paramilitary forces tomorrow to ensure free and fair polling.
Sathanur is one of the assembly segments coming under Kanakapura Lok Sabha constituency where Gowda is seeking re-election.
