Hundreds of devotees on Sunday paid obeisance at the Lord Shiva cave in the Bijbehara area.

Hundreds of devotees on Sunday paid obeisance at the Lord Shiva cave in the Bijbehara area.

The devotees assembled at the Pracheen Cave of the Swami Amarnath Thajiwara. Around six thousand devotees paid obeisance at the holy cave till August 10.

The Devasthan Prabandak Committee, Bijbehara-Anantnag, had organised langer on the occasion.

The Thajiwara Cave is considered the origin of Swami Amarnath Cave in the Himalaya. It is the sacred cave where Mata Parvati observed strict penance (tapasiya) to please Lord Shiva for knowing eternal truth of this universe.
