Congress leader Dharam Singh is all set to become the next Karnataka Chief Minister. He is likely to be sworn in on Friday.

A formal announcement is expected late on Thursday night, highly placed Congress sources said.

Karnataka would have a Government on Maharashtra pattern with the Congress, having more strength, leading the coalition while the JD(S) having the Deputy Chief Ministership, they said.
Dharam Singh, who has been elected the state Congress Legislature Party leader, is expected to be sworn in on Friday along with the Deputy Chief Minister of the Janata Dal(S), the sources said.
Congress and JD(S) would then hold further talks on the ministry formation, they added.
