DISTRICT MAGISTRATE Amrit Abhijat has recommended suspension of medical officer incharge posted at primary health centre, Saidabad following reports that the PHC had achieved less than 70 per cent family planning target in the financial year.
The DM has also formed a three-member committee, chaired by additional chief medical officer, to probe into the complaints that due to negligence of staff many people were turned back from the family planning camp in Phulpur.
Presiding over the DIFPSA meeting at the CMO office on Tuesday, Amrit Abhijat expressed unhappiness over 61 per cent sterilisation target achieved by Saidabad PHC.
He made recommendations to suspend the MOIC posted at the PHC and ordered to identify all those centres which had achieved less than 70 per cent target throughout the year.
Following complaints that many cases were turned back from the sterilisation camp in Phulpur due to negligence of the staff, the DM formed a three-member committee also comprising SDM Phulpur and DIFPSA project manager, to probe into the complaints. He directed the committee to submit its report latest by April 7.
Amrit Abhijat asked the chief medical officer to seek explanation from DUDA which conducted only one family planning camp.
However, he congratulated Koraon staff for securing first position in the district in holding family planning camps.
DIFPSA project manager informed that Jasra occupied second position in sterilisation camp, followed by Shankargarh.
The meeting was presided by CDO Bhavnath Singh. Also present at the meeting were CMO Dr Shantimal Singhavi, dy chief medical officers and other health department staff.
Meanwhile, Chief medical officer Dr Shantimal Singhavi has requested the gram pradhans to send the applications of ‘Asha’, a voluntary health work, to the district health department within 10 days.
Recruitment of Asha should be speeded up for better implementation of health programmes in rural areas. Ironically Allahabad lagged behind in the Asha scheme, said Dr Singhavi.
Nurses back to work: Nurses resumed their full time duty from Tuesday morning after their main demand of making fresh recruitment was accepted by the principal secretary (health) on Monday evening. “Our association leader received a GO for making fresh recruitment and promotion of nurses. A committee has also been formed to review our other demands related to washing and uniform allowance,” said District Nurses Association president Safia Khatun.
