Abhijat issued the ultimatum after visiting the affected area on Tuesday along with municipal commissioner, Gaya Prasad, Nagar Swasthya Adhikari, Dr Arun Kumar, general manager of Jal Sansthan and a host of other officials.
He was very much irked over the insanitation prevailing there. He found water-logging at three places and heaps of garbage lying all around. The residents of the locality alleged that the jaundice has spread in the area owing to civic officials' apathy towards cleanliness and supply of contaminated drinking water.
Abhijat immediately ordered the officials to set things right within 48 hours. He also asked for undertaking fogging and disinfecting the dirty water accumulated on the streets. Abhijat also advised the residents to drink boiled water as a preventing measure.
He asked the municipal commissioner and Nagar Swasthya Adhikari for major overhauling of the sanitary arrangements in the city.
