Yadav said his daughter Pooja, who was found hanging from a fan in her Sector-5 Gurgaon residence, was compelled to end her life as she was not fulfilling the dowry demands of her in-laws.
The victim's husband Ravi Shankar, brother-in-law Rohit and mother-in-law Manju have been booked.
Investigation officer assistant sub-inspector Rajender Singh said, "We are investigating the matter but it is too early to reach any conclusion."
In a separate case, a half-burnt body was found in a park at Shanti Nagar on Saturday.
The police got a call from residents of the area in the morning and are suspecting it to be a case of murder. As the face of the deceased is burnt, it is difficult for the police to identify the deceased. The victim was wearing a blue t-shirt and seems to be 18-20 years.
In another instance, the office of LIC Premium Point was burgled on Friday night. The thieves fled with a computer, two mobiles and some stationary.
