Driver burns boy for bad behaviour
A school jeep driver was arrested for burning a six-year-old boy with a heated metal clip in front of the boy?s mother, to stop his mischief.
The Thane police on Tuesday arrested a school jeep driver for allegedly burning a six-year-old boy with a heated metal clip in front of the boy’s mother, to ‘stop his mischief ’.
The boy, Pavan Thorve (6), is a Class 1 student of Brahman Vidyalay in Thane.
Police said Pavan’s mother Sheetal was upset with the complaints she received from the school about Pavan’s mischievous behaviour.
On Sunday, Sheetal asked Kishor Kulkarni, who drops Pavan to school in his jeep and stays just 500 meters away from Sheetal’s house, to scold Pavan for his bad behaviour.
But instead of scolding Pavan, Kulkarni burnt him at several places with a hot kitchen clip, in the presence of Sheetal. Sheetal allegedly did not interfere Kulkarni.
Pavan’s mother Sheetal, is a widow and works in the Mumbai high court as a lower clerk. Pavan lives at Raigad Gully in Chandanwadi and has a 13-year-old sister Bhakti.
The matter came to light after Pavan’s uncle Prabhakar Bhuvad came to enquire about Pavan after getting to know that he was absent from school.
Bhuvad was shocked to see the burn marks on Pavan’s face, neck and legs, and came to know about the incident.
“Pavan told me that his driver burnt him in the presence of Sheetal,” said Bhuvad.
Bhuvad then approached Mayor Rajan Vichare who informed the police about it.
The police are yet to verify whether Sheetal was a witness to the incident.
