The Indian man on board an Austrian Airlines flight from Vienna to New Delhi told the crew he was carrying several bombs with him.

The incident occurred shortly before the plane was about to land.

The passenger had already consumed a large amount of alcohol and was asking for more, but he was denied another drink as the aircraft was about to land, the report said.

After the threat, bomb disposal squads were dispatched and the plane made an emergency landing in New Delhi.

The man, identified as Mirasi Muslim Bilal, was arrested on charges of criminal intimidation.
