The Jammu and Kashmir government is fine-tuning the tourism sector to showcase its vast heritage, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has said.

The government has flagged preservation and propagation of state's rich culture and heritage as an important area.

"Our strategy is to fine-tune the tourism development activities with the cultural affinity of the area," Abdullah said.

Addressing the gathering after a book release function here yesterday, the chief minister highlighted the importance of books and said they "enrich one's knowledge about multi-faceted aspects of life, people, area and civilisation".
