Eight farmers commit suicide in Vidarbha

Eight farmers have committed suicide in different parts of Vidarbha region of Maharashtra in the last 48 hours.

Eight farmers have allegedly committed suicide in different parts of Vidarbha region of Maharashtra in the last 48 hours, sources said on Monday.

Farmer Ananda Rathod (60) ended his life by consuming poison at his house in Kanadi village in Murtizapur Taluka of Akola districton Sundaynight, they said.

Atul Warghat of Mana (Wai) village in the same district also committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance.

Other deceased included Himmatrao Gulabrao Raut of Fattepur, Ramesh Sonbaji Sonkunwa of Karanja, Rajesh Daberao of Akola, Sarangdhar Thakre and Avinash Appa Wadhane, both of Samrudpur and Prakash Nilgilwar of Kelapur in Yavatmal.
