Eight killed, 20 injured in road mishaps in Bihar

At least eight persons were killed and 20 others wounded, 11 of them critically, in two separate road mishaps in Bihar's Nalanda and Aurangabad districts, police said.

At least eight persons were killed and 20 others wounded, 11 of them critically, in two separate road mishaps in Bihar's Nalanda and Aurangabad districts on Wednesday, police said.

Five persons were killed on the spot and 18 others injured as a truck collided head-on with a tractor-trolley at village Fatehpur under Nalanda police station in Nalanda district this morning, sources said.

The victims, who were travelling on the tractor, were going to Rajgir from Fatuha when the accident occurred, sources said.

Of the injured, nine persons were admitted to sadar hospital here where their condition was stated to be critical, while others were discharged after first-aid, they said.

In another mishap, three persons were killed and two others critically injured when a truck dashed against a jeep on the Grand Trunk Road near Sinduria village under Barun police station in aurangabad, sources said.

The injured were being treated at a Barun-based hospital where their condition was described to be serious, they added.
