Ahmedabad administration has registered over 300 cases of violation of model code of conduct for the Dec 12 assembly polls.

The district administration here has registered 313 cases of violation of model code of conduct for the December 12 assembly polls.

Criminal cases related to posters, folders, banners and hoardings have been registered in the city with highest number of cases in Naroda area, an official release said here on Tuesday.

Two cases of holding meetings after stipulated period were registered with city police commissioner while 83 cases related to the usage of property were registered, it said.

As per guidelines of the Election Commission, permission for use of two vehicles will be given to each candidate. Cannvassing in 200 metres area around booths on the polling day is also barred, it said.

The authorities also imposed restrictions on use of mobile phones, cordless phones, wireless set and pagers around 100 metres surrounding area of polling booths, the release added.
