PEEVED OVER the dilly-dallying of the State Government in the implementation of retired Justice B C Verma wage revision report, the MP State Electricity Employees & Engineers Co-ordination Committee has decided to serve notice to the Government and board’s management tomorrow.

Justice Verma had given his report in December and thereafter the State Government has formed a three-member committee to study the recommendations.

After this, the three member-committee consisting of MP Power Transmission Company Limited Chairman cum Managing Director R. K Verma, MPSEB secretary P. K Vaishya and MP East Power Distribution Ltd. CMD Pankay Agrawal had been asked to start the negotiations with the recognised federation from Monday.

The move is being viewed by the employees leaders as a mere eyewash aimed to delay the recommendations of Justice Verma’s report. Wages of the odd- 55,000 employees of the Board hadn’t been revised since April 1, 1999.

The Co-ordination Committee, which enjoys support of 17 employees unions, through the notice, would warn the government to implement the wage committee report by March 20, or it would go on a relay hunger strike and thereafter fast unto death from March 25. If the State Government gets tough with us, we won’t mind stopping power supply, a leader of Co-ordination Committee said.
