Encephalitis: 2 admitted in Allahabad

Two more suspected cases of viral encephalitis from Kaushambi were admitted into the Sarojini Naidu Children's Hospital on Tuesday.

Two more suspected cases of viral encephalitis from Kaushambi were admitted into the Sarojini Naidu Children's Hospital on Tuesday. The total number of suspected encephalitis cases from Kaushambi has now reached four.

A five-year-old child from Meja was also admitted to the Children's Hospital on Monday night, after he showed symptoms of viral encephalitis fever.

According to the hospital records, the two kids who got admitted to the viral encephalitis ward of the Children's Hospital on Tuesday morning were Sona (10) daughter of Malkhan Singh of Jiyapur Kaushambi and Saroj (12) daughter of Amrit Lal of village Urai Manjhanpur, Kaushambi. Both the girls are in serious condition.

About three days back also the two children, Mohan (5) and Shishupal (10) from Kaushambi were admitted to the hospital. They were also in a serious condition.
Similarly, Neeraj (5) son of Dashrath of village Maidanya Khara was also admitted to the hospital on Monday night. He is suffering from high fever and is lying unconscious. However, no death was reported at the hospital in last 24 hours.

Children from different parts of the district are still arriving at the hospital.
Due to limited number of beds, two children are made to share the same bed. Few children were also shifted to the Emergency Ward.
