Errant private colleges to face action

THE HIGHER Education Department will initiate strict action against the private colleges that do not adhere to the rules. Also the recognition of such colleges could be cancelled, the Principal Secretary of the department Dr Bhagirath Prasad has warned.

THE HIGHER Education Department will initiate strict action against the private colleges that do not adhere to the rules. Also the recognition of such colleges could be cancelled, the Principal Secretary of the department Dr Bhagirath Prasad has warned.

The PS directed the regional additional directors of the department to conduct regular inspection of the colleges during a meeting held at Mantralaya on Thursday. The Commissioner of Higher Education S N Mishra was also present. The PS said that the private colleges should have all the basic facilities as per the prescribed guidelines and if any violation is found during the inspection, strict action should be initiated.

He asked the regional additional directors to take assistance of district administration in conduction of training. They should regularly send out reports to the government, he said.
