The ex-servicemen wing of the HP BJP on Thursday strongly opposed the decision of the state government to levy 4% vat on CSD items in the state.
It blasted the Congress party led state government for the decision which was going to harm the cause of the ex-servicemen.
The wing at its meeting under the chairmanship of Brigadier Lal Chand Jaswal said the Congress party would have to face its consequences in the coming Lok Sabha elections.
Former CM, Prem Kumar Dhumal and HP BJP chief, Sat Pal Satti were also present in the meeting.
The meeting decided to have a nationwide rally of the ex-servicemen wing at Rewari on September 15th and decided to send 1,000 volunteers to make the rally a successful one. The rally would be addressed by Gujarat CM, Narendra Modi.
While addressing the rally, Dhumal said the party was pro-exservicemen and would continue to fight for their rights as it had done earlier.
Sat Pal Satti, the HP BJP chief said the party was all set to help the ex-servicemen, serving soldiers and their families.
