He was delivering the inaugural address at a two-day national workshop on ‘Sustainable Growth Model for India’ at Swatantrata Bhawan in Banaras Hindu University on Saturday.
Industry Institute Partnership Cell of the Institute of Technology organised the workshop.
Dabholkar, of the ‘Utterly butterly delicious Amul’ fame, said creativity was inherent and could not be learnt in a classroom or from books. “In communication, it does not matter how correct you are in usage of grammar, but how you convey your message effectively,” he said.
Presiding over the function, Institute of Technology director Prof SN Upadhyay advised the students to become entrepreneurs. “Whatever a person does, he should have the courage to give final shape to the same otherwise he can never succeed,” he said.
Former chairman of IT’s Institute Placement Cell, Prof BB Bansal, established the theme of the workshop and outlined the skills required to become a successful entrepreneur. He said India needed to repeat the success of its service sector in the manufacturing sector.
Later, during the technical sessions, Dabholkar delivered a lecture on ‘Ad-Designing Electronic Media and Theatre’. Model Ananya Dutt and Dabholkar also conducted a workshop for students.
Events such as ‘Ventura: Business Plan Writing’ and ‘Razzmatazz: Corporate Quiz’ were held on the inaugural day. Students from IIM (Ahemadabad, Lucknow and Khozikhode), XLRI (Jamshedpur), FMS (Delhi), Amity Business School (Lucknow), IT (Kanpur) and IIT (Roorkie) participated in the workshop.
