Yasashvi Yadav, superintendent of police (rural) told Hindustan Times that the men were illegally storing 2,000 gelatine sticks, 70 kg of ammonium and 2,700 electronic detonators. The seized material has been valued over Rs 1.25 lakh.

The police arrested Kishan Choudhary (30), Mohan Vaishnav (32) and Jamnalal Vaishnav (30).

“In the wake of the Pune blast we are carrying out special operation and have asked our informers to be alert,” Yadav said, adding that though the arrested people claimed to be using the material for mining purpose, they were actually selling them to anyone who paid them.

“Even Naxalites and terrorists could be buying it from them,” he said.
