Faith in judiciary is soul of democracy, says Speaker

He was speaking as chief guest at a function held to introduce the newly elected office-bearers of Civil Court Bar Association Gorakhpur.

He was speaking as chief guest at a function held to introduce the newly elected office-bearers of Civil Court Bar Association Gorakhpur.

Pandey said that the attitude of lawyers strengthened the faith of common people in judiciary and suggested that accusing politician is not solution to any problem. He laid stress on the need for the fact that the Bar Association should protect the interest of the lawyers and think about the interest of common people.

Pandey urged the lawyers to join politics for its reform. He highlighted the contribution of senior advocate of Civil Court Amar Nath Verma.

Presiding over the programme, cabinet minister Harishanker Tiwari spoke about the credibility of lawyers.

He said that the clients used to sign the plain papers on the directive of advocates, and this was an instance of the credibility and firm faith of the common people in lawyers. He called upon the lawyers to maintain their credibility and said that the loss of credibility would create a lot of problems.

Tiwari urged the lawyers’ to use strike or abstaining from the duty as a last option as their duty were related to the clients.

He said that lawyers would settle their disputes through negotiation.

Delivering his views on this occasion district judge Amar Sinha said that the Bar Association had a glorious history in providing justice.
