Feeding zoo inmates for departed soul

The Gunjan (echo) of their love hear loud on the Valentine’s Day, when the world reaches out to all beloveds. After giving away Rs 18,300 for animal adoption to the Lucknow Zoo in memory of their son Gunjan Dubey who was murdered last year, the old bereaved parent—Lakshmi and KP Dubey—visited zoo to feed animals.
Says Gunjan’s father KP Dubey: “We see no point in feeding family friends on the first death anniversary of our son. Hence we thought to spend the money in feeding the speechless creature of the God. We gave away Rs 3500 for feeding especially the herbivore animals.” Their daughter, son-in-law and grandson accompanied them.
The old couple disclosed that their son was an animal lover and they thought it would be a befitting tribute to the departed soul. Even while tears rolled from their eyes, Gunjan’s parents urged people to contribute generously towards animal welfare as this would help in their proper upkeep. The family have adopted a peacock, a white peacock, one black buck, one gray cocateal and a silver pheasant.
Dubey took a dig on police insensitivity. They even shot letters to the President of India and Human Rights Commission following police swung to some kind of action. They appealed to the police to punish all those who were involved in the brutal murder of their son as they are getting bit impatient. A commerce graduate, Gunjan was 26 when he was murdered last year near Indira Nagar on the night of February 13, 2005.
