Things seem to have finally slipped out of Motorsports Association of India's (MAI) hands. The international motorsports body (FIA) on Thursday upheld its General Assembly's decision of transferring power from MAI to the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI).

At the FIA General Assembly meeting on November 7, the authority to control motorsports in India was given to the FMSCI. A disgruntled MAI then approached the FIA International Court of Arbitration. “Dismissing the MAI petition, the FIA Court of Appeal upheld the decision taken by its General Assembly on Nov 7, 2008, giving the ASN (national sporting body) status to FMSCI and ordered MAI to bear the costs," a FMSCI press release stated. Reacting to the decision, FMSCI chairman Vijay Mallya said he hoped it would bring an end to the conflict.
