A 45-year-old man undergoing treatment died in a private hospital here after fire broke out in a Intensive Care Unit today, police said.

A 45-year-old man undergoing treatment died in a private hospital here after fire broke out in a Intensive Care Unit (ICU) today, police said.

The incident took place in Shatabdi super speciality hospital and 55 other patients were shifted to other hospitals following the blaze, they said.

The deceased has been identified as Vijay Jadhav from Nandgaon, police added.

Fire tenders have been pressed into service and the flames have been doused.

However, the cause of the fire is not yet known.
