Five arrested in J&K for Ayodhya attack
The J&K Police on Thursday arrested five men from a border district in connection with the July 5 attack.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday said they had arrested five men from a border district in connection with the July 5 attack on the disputed Babri mosque site in Uttar Pradesh.

"There will be more arrests in this case as we progress," said a police officer tasked with probing the connections of Kashmiri guerrillas with the attack Ayodhya.
The five men were arrested at Mendhar in Poonch district, he said, noting that Khera village in Mendhar had figured time and again in the investigations.
The arrested men were identified as Rafiq Ahmad, Lal Mohammad Din, Akbar, Naseer and Hakim.
It was from Khera village that two terrorists- Asif Iqbal and Farooq Naseem - were earlier arrested in connection with the attack. They disclosed how weapons used in the attack were transported from Mendhar to Panipat town of Harayana.
Five terrorists were gunned down by paramilitary troopers when they tried to storm the disputed Ayodhya site. Another man died when the guerrillas blew up an explosive-laden jeep near the site.
Disclosures made by the men arrested so far in Jammu and Kashmir have provided police with crucial leads.
Senior Superintendent of Police SD Singh at Poonch is personally monitoring the investigation. The police are now scanning the background of the arrested guerrillas to find out about their links within the country and their contacts across the border.
