Five people were killed and four others injured as the truck in which they were travelling fell into the Yamuna river after breaking the railing of a bridge here

Five people were killed and four others injured as the truck in which they were travelling fell into the Yamuna river after breaking the railing of a bridge here.

Police said the truck which was on its way to Kanpur fell into the river after the driver lost control over it.

While three people including the driver and cleaner died on the spot, two others succumbed on way to hospital, police said.

The victims were taken out of the water with the help of locals.

The injured were referred to hospitals in Kanpur, police added.
