The case was registered by a lower court in Bhopal following complaint by Congress leader Deepchand Yadav.

In her revision petition, Uma Bharti’s counsel Harish Mehta had contended that she was not heard before the court decided to register the case against her on the basis of Yadav’s complaint.

The court, however, held that it was not necessary to give a chance of hearing to Uma Bharti before registering the case against her and ordered the lower court to proceed further with the case.
