Flyover project referred to RITES
THE RAILWAY and district authorities have finally decided to take the help of Rail India Technical and Economic Services (RITES) for the proposed flyover project at Rambagh to overcome the traffic problem.

This was decided in a meeting held on Monday and attended by North Central Railway General Manager Budh Prakash, Divisional Commissioner Dr Lalit Verma, District Magistrate Amrit Abhijat and many senior officials of Railways and Public Works Department (PWD).
The flyover issue came up in the meeting with a view to solve the traffic problems arising due to railway crossings in the city. Discussions were also held in the meeting about the height of the flyover. The authorities suggested for tracks on the same level of platform number 4 & 5 of Allahabad Junction, increasing the height of railway bridges at Bairahna and CMP degree college, road widening and for resolving the problem of accumulation of water beneath the railway bridges. After serious discussions on the issue the officials arrived at the final decision to refer the proposal to RITES to find out the best way to resolve the traffic problem due to railway crossings in the city.
RITES is an allied organisation of Indian Railways providing technical assistance in construction and maintenance of flyovers and railway track across the country.
Meanwhile vice-president of Eastern UP Chamber of Commerce and Industry Arun Kumar Jain with the help of LCD projector highlighted the traffic problems at railway bridges and crossing across the city.
DM suggested for widening the road as well as increasing the height of railway bridge at Bairahna and CMP Degree College.
