With an estimated food consumption like this, LIFW promises to be a treat for gourmets and fashion aficionados alike. If the entire fash frat is gearing up for the fashion extravaganza, so is the staff at The Grand, New Delhi, LIFW's venue, this time.

According to the hotel's GM Manfred Keiler, "LIFW 2005 will make history again and we will do our best to ensure that."

With two new ballrooms ready, the hotel promises immense floor space. The pillar-less convention facilities, six food & beverage concepts, claim the hotel authorities, have provided an ideal setting. Not only to the organisers of the fashion week, but also to the models, designers, media, the paparazzi, the buyers and most im portantly, the playful yet powerful aftershow parties.

The hotel has dedicated areas for specific purposes. While the fashion presentations will be held at the two ballrooms, Cascades (christened Foster's Pit for seven days) will be the hub of all activities. Three lounges - Samsung VIP Lounge at the Drawing/Board Room next to the banquet hall; the DHL business lounge at the new ballroom and the Models' Lounge have also been set up. The designer stalls will be at the shopping arcade.

"Our guests are aware of the latest in haute couture as well as haute cuisine," says the hotel's executive chef Sushil Chugh. "Our chefs have therefore designed special adaptations to the existing menu. They reflect current international trends in dining with the emphasis on lighter and visually appealing presentation."

Moving on to the the celeb sprinkle, the hotel has confirmed the presence of cricketers Harbhajan Singh, Irfan Pathan, Zaheer Khan and Mohammed Kaif. Australia's Jason Gillespie is also expected. Rahul Bose and Rakshanda Khan will be representing the acting fraternity. And then you never know, few other celebs might just walk in unannounced.
