Senior officers of all three armed forces attend this course. Earlier Gen Singh visited the 26th Battalion of the Maratha Light Infantry (MLI).

Gen J J Singh is the Colonel of the Regiment of MLI. He was welcomed by Commanding Officer of the Battalion Col Vijay Sawant. Gen Singh addressed the officers, junior commissioned officers and the jawans of the battalion in a special Sainik Sammelan.

During his speech he emphasized on leadership qualities and the tradition of secularism in armed forces. After this formal talk, he also interacted informally with the troops for more than half an hour during tea. Col Vijay Sawant, whose battalion has reached Mhow last week after its tenure in Jammu & Kashmir, said that this was the first Sainik Sammelan of the MLI taken by Gen Singh after assuming charge as Army Chief.
