Former Bihar Chief Minister SN Sinha died after prolonged illness at his residence in Patna on Monday morning.

Former Bihar Chief Minister SN Sinha died after prolonged illness at his residence in Patna on Monday morning. He was 90.

He is survived by his wife and son, Nikhil Kumar, a Congress MP from Aurangabad, and daughter-in-law Shyama Sinha, a former MP.

Sinha became Chief Minister in 1989. He was elected to the Lok Sabha in 1952, 1957, 1971, 1977 and 1984.

He served the state as a minister in the cabinet of Vinodanand Jha in 1950 and also in the KB Sahay ministry.

Sinha was critically ill for the past several days.

Several Congress leaders and others expressed grief over the death of the former Chief Minister.
